Job Title: Draftsman/Designer

Reports To: Engineering Lead

Exemption Status: Exempt

Normal Shift / Working Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekends will be

required as deemed necessary by departmental demands.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in CAD design of sheet metal fabrications. This role involves creating detailed drawings and controlling documents for use on the production floor.

Duties / Responsibilities:

- Create Technical Drawings: Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed drawings and plans for products based on specifications.

- Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with team members to incorporate design requirements and ensure accuracy in drawings.

- Revise and Update Drawings: Review and modify existing drawings to meet project specifications and standards, ensuring all necessary information is included.

- Conduct Site Visits: Gather data and verify that design specifications are being met during the manufacturing process.

- Maintain Documentation: Organize and manage project files, including drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

Experience: Two+ years related experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Specialized Skills, Training or Abilities:

- Ability to read blueprints

- Understanding of GD&T

- Proficiency in CAD Software: Strong knowledge of CAD tools such as Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks is essential for creating and modifying designs.

- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings, with a keen eye for detail.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying potential design issues and suggesting solutions.

- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Understanding of Industry Standards: Knowledge of regulations and materials relevant to drafting and design.

- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a fabrication environment.

- Familiarity with various materials and their machining properties.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

- Heavy focused on safety

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in both an office and a production plant environment with limited exposure to elements such as dust, noise, fumes or temperature changes.
