Position Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) drives NFS’ growth along the East Coast, including the Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic territories. Reporting to the Business Development Manager on the organizational chart, the BDR plays a critical role in representing NFS at conferences & trade shows, and professional association meetings. The BDR assists with lead generation and supporting day-to-day business development activities. The ideal candidate will be based in Southern Maine and willing to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities
•Represent NFS at trade shows, conferences, and networking events throughout the East Coast.
•Assist with planning, logistics, and setup of event booths and displays.
•Support the sales team with outreach, client follow-ups, meeting scheduling, and communication tracking.
•Organize and maintain promotional materials for events and marketing initiatives.
•Coordinate travel, accommodations, and logistics for business development activities.
•Conduct research on prospective clients, market trends, and competitors to support outreach strategies.
•Provide administrative support to the Business Development Manager and Regional Sales Managers.
•Serve as an NFS brand ambassador, exemplifying professionalism and NFS’s commitment to quality and accountability.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred).
•0–5 years of experience in a sales support, marketing, or business development role. Industry experience in construction or life safety is a plus.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable networking and representing the company publicly.
•Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficient in HubSpot and Microsoft Office Suite, or the ability to quickly learn these applications.
•A self-starter with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
•Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time, primarily along the East Coast, with occasional travel further west.
Compensation & Benefits
•Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
