We’re after a heavy hitter in the nuclear and precision machining space—someone who knows the game, owns their network, and is ready to turn that into real impact. This is a high-upside role for someone bold enough to make a move and smart enough to make it count.


Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) requires a unique blend of sales expertise and technical knowledge. Success in this role involves not only understanding complex technical solutions but also applying strategic sales skills to generate new business opportunities, maintain strong client relationships, and promote STP products and services. BDM professionals drive revenue growth while ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.


Prospecting & Lead Generation


· Identify and research high-value target customers.

· Strengthen customer relationships by securing referrals and introductions, expanding engagement and deepening partnerships with existing clients.

· Write effective proposals and follow-up emails with clear and concise language defining the problem and solution, and a call to action

· Apply effective cold outreach techniques (calls, emails, LinkedIn).

· Manage sales forecasts and pipeline development to track potential orders, assess progress, and project future revenue trends.

· Maintain an organized, data-driven approach to business development.

· Use KPIs like close rate, pipeline velocity, and conversion ratios to measure and leverage performance.


Value-Based Selling

· Identify and address customer challenges beyond product specifications by offering tailored, solution-driven approaches.

· Articulate the financial and operational impact of solutions to demonstrate measurable value.

· Engage customers with open-ended questions to uncover their underlying needs and priorities.

· Encourage new perspectives by challenging conventional thinking and introducing innovative solutions.

· Simplify complex technical concepts to ensure clear, effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

· Position our solutions as the superior choice by effectively differentiating from competitors.


Business & Market Acumen

· Stay informed on industry trends and competitor strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

· Align sales efforts with company objectives to drive sustainable growth.

· Recognize and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize customer value.

· Tailor sales approaches to different industries and market dynamics for increased effectiveness.


Post-Sales Relationship & Account Management


· Ensure customer satisfaction and retention


· Manage ongoing customer support and follow-ups


· Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts

· Encourage referrals and testimonials from satisfied customers

· Sales & Negotiation: Strong ability to close deals, negotiate terms, and drive sales growth.

· Market Research & Analysis: Skilled in analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
