Manager, Business Development

Summit Ridge Energy, LLC has a full-time opening for a Manager, Business Development in Arlington, VA.

Duties are to provide quantitative and qualitative analytical insight into new renewable market strategies, and commercial technologies to drive the organization’s future pipeline.

Develop relationships with C&I, municipalities, hospitals, schools, and universities to provide behind-the-meter and other value opportunities.

Lead the coordination and submission of RFP responses to competitive bid opportunities on behalf of Summit Ridge Energy including cross-functional RFP response preparation and leading RFP response interviews and negotiations through to contracted projects.

Lead the buildout of in-house energy market models for North American markets which includes both regulated and ISO regions, focused on new solar and energy storage markets; inclusive of energy, ancillary services, capacity, REC, and carbon/emissions.

Participate in acquisition life cycle while balancing financial modeling, development diligence, engineering deliverables, closing checklists, and data room management.

Lead relationship building with potential RFP or bilateral contract counterparties.

Assist with developing strategic relationships with Tier 1 equipment suppliers.

Lead due diligence streams and transaction business case and present for investment committee approvals.

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Engineering, Finance, Renewable Energy, Energy Science/Systems or related discipline. Higher degree accepted but not a minimum requirement.

36 months experience required in occupation involving experience in analytical role at a trading firm, IPP or Renewable energy development firm.

Must have 1 year experience in the following: using Excel and with large data sets, in Data mining and programming (VBA, SQL, R, Python, etc), in energy industry, electricity infrastructure and in organized market dynamics, in presenting market modeling and other due diligence results to the origination team, senior management, and various sponsors/partners, including project Consultants, working with cross-functional teams (development, operations, engineering, finance) and communicating investment rationale to various stakeholders, work involving key financial performance indicators for infrastructure assets and in delivering presentations to senior leadership considering investment opportunities.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: Up to 5% domestic short-term travel involved. Hybrid position - in office 4 days per week. 1 day telework from home.
