About the Company:
Sentinel Water Solutions partners with utilities to address PFAS contamination through innovative treatment system design, pilot testing, and turnkey equipment. We design and manufacture customized pressure vessels and modular treatment skids that improve regulatory compliance, lower life-cycle costs, and simplify installation for drinking water utilities. We are seeking a mission-driven Business Development Manager to help grow our utility partnerships and support technical sales efforts as we expand.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will lead outreach and solution development with utilities, engineering firms, and government stakeholders. This hybrid role combines traditional business development with hands-on technical support, including scoping treatment systems, reviewing lab results, refining pilot test designs, and bringing together partner companies to provide turnkey solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in drinking water treatment and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
•Engage with utilities, consultants, partner vendors, and regulators to understand project needs and present Sentinel’s solutions
•Translate water quality data, site constraints, and regulatory requirements into tailored system proposals
•Develop scopes of work and pilot testing strategies, including media selection and vessel sizing
•Manage proposal development, RFP responses, and pricing estimates
•Coordinate with the engineering team to validate proposed system designs
•Attend site walks, conferences, and project kickoff meetings to represent Sentinel
•Maintain and expand relationships with utilities, engineering firms, and prime contractors
•Track opportunities in CRM and provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline health and performance
•Contribute to strategic planning for scaling product lines and targeting emerging regulatory opportunities (e.g., EPA MCL compliance deadlines)
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
•8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the water treatment or environmental services industry.
•Strong understanding of the municipal water and wastewater market and regulatory environment.
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge of PFAS treatment technologies and their applications.
•Experience in managing long-term client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor.
