Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior role in the Capital Projects Department and has responsibility and accountability for the successful development and management of assigned projects. The BDM leads project teams from initiation to Concept Selection (FEL2A). The BDM is the owner of the project’s Business Case for the lifecycle of the project (project initiation through turnover to Operations) and is responsible and accountable for ensuring that a project meets business objectives, is aligned with the Capital Business Plan, and Sponsors and Stakeholders are aligned with the project drivers, objectives and proposed scope of work.

The BDM works closely with Sponsors, Business Teams, and multiple disciplines (Operations, Discipline Engineering, Process Safety Management, Project Engineering, Environmental, and Economics & Scheduling) to define the Business Case, develop project scope, develop project deliverables, and evaluate alternatives via comparative economics and risk analysis.

Experience and Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Preferred Education and Experience:* 3+ years of exposure to Stage-Gate Capital Project Processes

Physical Requirements:* Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
