The company can fill metal or plastic containers as well as trigger sprayers with canned and bottled fillings ranging from 4 fluid ounces to 5 gallons and drum and tote billets containing 75 gallons or more. Reporting Relationship: The Business Development Manager will report to the Director, Custom Packaging.
Basic Function:
Overview
•Aggressively develop and maintain relationships with customers and organizations utilizing custom blending and packaging services.
•Aggressively maintain in-depth customer relationships in the custom packaging and blending sector and enthusiastically focus on the development of additional potential customers.
•Manage or actively support the sales and marketing planning, forecasting, and budgeting functions and provide quarterly and annual sales plans, forecasts, and budgets.
•Prepare market analysis data indicating areas for opportunities to grow and evaluate through customer contact, areas of competitor strengths and weaknesses in the packaging and blending sector.
•Assume responsibility for setting and obtaining aggressively realistic goals in the customer base, along with responsibility for identifying, developing, and managing customers and potential prospects.
•Maintain pricing and margins at all current accounts and prospects utilizing activity-based costing analysis.
•Have demonstrated ability to manage a project from prospect identification and product development through commercialization.
•Actively and aggressively manage a territory and interact with key internal and external business associates, including their sales director, product management, and other verticals, as well as the shared service/customer service/operations team, to efficiently and effectively support and fulfill customer needs.
•Develop in-depth relationships with customers by developing multiple contacts at various levels of management and within functional groups.
•Possess the skill sets that allow for attentive listening, allowing for in-depth understanding of customer requirements with the ability to propose appropriate solutions.
•Ensure that customers and potential customers are properly qualified, including safety and environmental practices and performance and financial capabilities.
•Develop and maintain an adequate pipeline to ensure that new business outpaces any lost business, with a focus on exceeding current customer expectations and developing new customers.
•With marketing and sales analysis, identify all new contract packaging and blending product opportunities while maintaining and growing the existing customer base.
•The business development manager will have depth of experience in the chemical packaging and blending area or a closely related chemical sales product and will possess an aggressive sales attitude supported by excellent oral and written communication skills, a customer service focus, enthusiasm for representing high-quality service, a strong team-oriented mindset, and the highest level of integrity.
The candidate has the necessary experience and credentials
•A high school diploma is required A significant additional benefit would be a bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience in chemical distribution/contract manufacturing or a related field.
•A minimum of 7 to 15 years of sales and marketing experience.
•Demonstrated success in driving sales growth.
•A strong track record of driving growth within a customer base, preferably in the blending and packaging sector or specialty chemical sales.
•A wide-ranging knowledge and established network within the chemical industry.
•The demonstrated ability to provide reporting and analytics to executive leadership on sales effectiveness and opportunities for growth and improvement.
•Appropriate sales and marketing knowledge and experience allowing for the ability to analyze sales trends and forecasts and drive profitable growth.
•A high level of decision-making ability balancing customer needs and company objectives.
•Attributes consistent with company culture, safety, customer service, integrity, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess sales and marketing experience in the chemical blending and packaging industry sector, have an outgoing, service-oriented personality, and have exceptional customer service skills. They will also have experience executing written sales contracts and business arrangements. He or she will have demonstrated a high level of capability in developing and maintaining relationships both externally and internally, and he or she will also demonstrate the ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization. He/she will possess strong skills in financial management and analysis supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual capability will be a desired plus in English and Spanish.
He or she will have an analytical aptitude, commitment to accuracy and quality, problem-solving skills, attention to detail with a focus on efficiency and productivity, and strong organizational skills and accuracy.
This professional will be a self-starter and an effective time manager, and they will have the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Ideally, he/she will demonstrate eagerness to learn new things, maintain a productive attitude toward changes and new challenges, and be enthusiastic about facing new responsibilities and changing focus.

Pay: $82,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
