Fabricator / Welder – Structural Steel Production
JackRabbit Manufacturing is a growing structural steel fabrication company in Bryan, TX, seeking Fabricators / Welders to join our production team. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience, from entry-level fabricators to highly experienced craftsmen. Final role level and pay will be determined based on experience, skill set, and demonstrated ability.
This is a full-time, hands-on shop position producing structural steel components. Team members are expected to work safely, accurately, and collaboratively to support production goals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Measure, cut, fit, grind, drill, bend, and prepare steel materials
- Fabricate parts and assemblies from plate, beam, channel, tubing, bar, and sheet metal
- Perform layout and fit-up prior to welding
- Execute MIG and/or stick welding tasks based on experience level
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drill presses, brakes, shears, and flame cutters
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools
- Inspect work to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work independently or as part of a team depending on experience
- Assist other fabricators as needed
- Troubleshoot fabrication challenges
- Mentor less-experienced fabricators
- Lead by example in quality, safety, and efficiency
- High school diploma or GED required
- Fabrication or welding experience preferred (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
- Ability to read prints and fabricate from drawings
- Experience with MIG and/or stick welding (level dependent)
- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently; heavier materials with assistance
- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in a shop environment- Full-time, 40+ hours per week
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, weekdays
