Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and efficiency in a shop. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques to join metal components accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and sheet metal equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Fabricate metal structures such as ductwork, piping systems, or structural supports in accordance with ASME codes & standards.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly tasks on construction sites or within manufacturing facilities.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously while working on construction sites or in fabrication shops; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to project schematics and specifications.
- Assist in pipe threading, soldering, machining, or assembly processes as needed to support fabrication projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and inspect completed welds using calipers or other measurement tools for quality assurance.
- Proven construction site experience working with structural steel, ductwork, piping, or metal fabrication projects.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding processes; familiarity with welding preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and ASME codes & standards confidently.
- Skilled in operating fabrication machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, and machining tools.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures and the safe operation of forklifts or other heavy equipment on job sites.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Familiarity with schematics related to mechanical systems or pipe threading techniques is advantageous.
