Welder

Welders and Fitters at Midwest Structural are required to fit and weld structural components to specifications requested by the customer. These specifications will be explained to workers in detail before starting processes by their supervisor. Welders/Fitters are required to be competent in the following processes.

We are currently seeking skilled CWB Journeyman Welders for our fabrication shop.

Please note: This role is strictly for By-hand CWB Welders.

Compensation/Benefits

- Overtime after 8 hours per day.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

- Perform high-quality welding using FCAW and MCAW processes to CWB standards

- Interpret drawings, blueprints and welding procedures

- Weld structural components and materials according to project specifications

- Ensure all welds meet or exceed CWB and internal quality requirements

- Maintain welding equipment and a clean, safe working environment

Experience/Education/Qualifications

- Registered Journeyman Welder

- Valid CWB qualifications

- Current FCAW and MCAW tickets

- Previous experience in fabrication shop

- CSTS 2020 Fundamentals (including WHMIS 2015)

- May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test for certain sites

- Must have or be willing to obtain necessary site-specific safety tickets and orientations

- Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation

- Must be eligible to work in Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 50 per week
