Are you a PE-licensed water/wastewater engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, complex design challenges, and regulatory-driven infrastructure work—without being pushed prematurely into a pure project management role?
This is an opportunity to take on a senior technical design position within a nationally respected water consultancy supporting mission-critical municipal, state, and utility infrastructure across the Washington–Baltimore metropolitan region.
- Serve as a technical design lead on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Work on treatment plants, pump stations, conveyance systems, and regulatory upgrades
- Remain hands-on technically while collaborating closely with senior PMs
- Support high-visibility programs tied to regulatory compliance, resilience, and capacity expansion
- Operate in a flexible hybrid environment with long-term regional stability
- Advance technically toward Senior Technical Specialist, Technical Manager, or Subject Matter Expert roles
- Leading and reviewing detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater facilities
- Performing process, hydraulic, and infrastructure design analyses
- Supporting planning, permitting, and regulatory documentation for public-sector clients
- Providing technical oversight during construction and commissioning phases
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (civil, process, mechanical, electrical)
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to internal technical standards
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (MD, DC, or VA — or obtainable)
- 7–15+ years of experience in water/wastewater or water resources engineering- Strong technical background in treatment systems, conveyance, and municipal infrastructure
- Experience working within regulated public-sector or utility environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred)
