Opportunity: The Water Distribution & Treatment Supervisor is responsible for leading the team of utility professionals who operate and maintain water distribution treatment facilities in the City of Maricopa. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking, data driven, solutions-oriented leader that leverages new and innovative approaches and best practices to ensure safe, secure, reliable, and resilient utility services.
· Full-time on-site role for Distribution Supervisor located in Maricopa, AZ. The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated employees with tasks to ensure proper functioning of water supply lines, maintenance of infrastructure, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
· This position will require the Distribution Supervisor to be the operator on record.
· The Distribution Supervisor directs the work of a team of operators engaged in day-to- day operations of the water distribution system, including maintenance, repair, and installation of water mains, valves, meters, and other infrastructure.
· This position seeks, organizes, and analyzes relevant maintenance, and operational data with the purpose of supporting the organizational business goals. This leadership position will implement solutions through direct reports, vendors, and special teams.
· This position will coordinate with the Maintenance department to set and maintain standards for asset data reporting for preventative maintenance programs.
· Assign tasks and schedules for distribution operators and ensure work is completed efficiently.
· Provides direction to peers and subordinates in performance of routine day-to-day work activities.
· Conducts and administers all company work related efforts and activities within the rules, regulations and responsibilities of the most current company safety policy and OHSA regulation.
· This position will be responsible for maintaining monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that will be utilized both internally and reported to regulatory agencies.
· Additionally, the Supervisor may be subject to on-call work, emergency call back work and subject to shift work that may include nights.
· Is responsible for directing investigative response for reported leaks, distribution system failures, and other operational problems, taking corrective actions when necessary.
· Develop and implement operator training for distribution and treatment processes, in coordination with Regional Manager directives and goals
· Coordinate and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide Regional Manager and company Executives with a clear picture of Department progress toward agreed-upon goals
· Participates in supplemental budget recommendations and projections.
· This position provides insight to the company’s Asset Management Program and is an integral part of Operations.
· Directs routine inspection of distribution system equipment (valves, hydrants, mains, treatment facilities, etc.) and schedules proactive maintenance to ensure asset resiliency.
· Supervises the ordering of materials and services needed to properly carry on the functions of the division; prioritizes workload for prompt completion of emergencies and unscheduled work requests. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Responds to customer complaints and requests for service.
· Provides direction and clarifies routine day-to-day priorities in the field. Utilizes a variety of mechanical tools to fabricate, rebuild, strengthen, and maintain various parts and pieces of plant equipment.
· Focuses on long-term resiliency issues. Assists in the development of long-term assets and capital projects in conjunction with Regional Manager and other departments within Global Water Resources.
· Perform low-skilled preventive maintenance activities on assets and coordinates with Maintenance or Third-party contractors to conduct medium- to high-skilled maintenance as needed.
Education/Knowledge: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand intermediate operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to associates degree or equivalency.
Writing: Work requires the ability to write work orders, memos, letters, reports and keep accurate daily records at treatment facilities.
· Minimum of six years’ experience in a related field.
· Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification Required or obtain within 6 months.
· Grade 4 Water Distribution certification with ADEQ or obtain within 6 months.
Time Management: Ability to complete repairs and tasks in a timely fashion.
Technical Skills: Work requires the use of advanced technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization. Moderate analysis and independent thinking are utilized. Work requires understanding and knowledge of using SCADA.
Licenses: Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License with no restrictions.
Location: Primary location will be the Global Water Center located in the City of Maricopa.

Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods; prolonged periods of time with repetitive motions of hands and fingers; close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus; climb stairs, navigate uneven terrain; use fingers to grasp and move small objects; ability to hear and recognize sounds; able to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet; able to utilize personal protective equipment as appropriate for safety. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty pounds. Work is performed in an office and outdoors where the employee may be exposed to noise from construction site heavy equipment and inclement weather.
