The Warehouse Lead is a crucial role within the warehouse team, responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing leadership to warehouse associates, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the warehouse. The Lead Warehouse Associate will work closely with management to enforce safety standards, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional service to customers.
- Stock warehouse shelves, racks, and bins with incoming inventory.
- Assist in inventory control processes, including cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Work closely with management to optimize inventory levels and storage space utilization.
- Fill customer orders by accurately picking and packaging items for shipment.
- Fill buckets, drums, or other containers with specified products as per customer requirements.
- Ensure accurate labeling and organization of inventory to facilitate efficient retrieval and storage.
- Lead by example in following company safety standards and protocols.
- Monitor warehouse activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promptly report any issues or hazards to management.
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials within the warehouse, and organize inventory.
- Provide guidance and training to warehouse associates on safe forklift operation practices.
- Lead cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the warehouse and yard areas are clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with fuel pump operation when needed.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Typically work is performed in a warehouse or yard setting.
- Frequent work around equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Frequent work in dusty, wet, dirty environments and exposure to fuel and fuel fumes, oil, and grease.
- Frequent work in hot or cold environments.
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to move about office setting to complete responsibilities.
- Able to move freely around work and customer sites.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and stoop.
- Occasional use of phone, computer, and office equipment.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to move drums up to 400 lbs.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Able to effectively multitask with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and able to learn company systems and processes.
- Adheres to the company’s values and ethical expectations.
- Able to obtain Company forklift certification.
- Strong customer service skills.
- One or more years’ experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field.
- Three or more years’ experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field.
- Trade or technical school (Certificate or diploma) in an applicable field.
