We are looking to hire a Communications Technician
to join our team, based out of our
Grande Prairieoffice, for Field/SCADA Communication work throughout Alberta and British Columbia. You must be willing to travel for a week at a time to different projects throughout Alberta and British Columbia and able to climb a 100' tower or larger daily, if required.
- Troubleshooting/repairing/installing two-way and SCADA/telemetry equipment
- implementation of new radio networks, while analyzing existing networks in order to understand how to make them perform better or resolve connectivity issues.
- Technical understanding of RF radio communications equipment
- Performing the installation and servicing of telecommunications equipment
- Tower climbing, servicing, and construction at heights
- Structured Cabling
- IP Based Camera Installation and Troubleshooting
- Antenna installations and alignment
- Configuration of telecommunication hardware
- Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver viable solutions
- Excellent communication, documentation, and strong team-building skills to interact with customers and fellow team members
- Must be able to work from excessive heights, ranging from 30 feet to 300 feet, and a variety of weather conditions indoors and outdoors
- Communications Technician trade ticket is an asset
- Valid class 5 with a clean Drivers Abstract
- Valid H2S, First Aid Level C CPR & AED, CSO, CSTS, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, ATV/UTV and High Angle Rescue Tower Training
