Join our dynamic logistics team as a Traffic Clerk, where your organizational skills and attention to detail will keep our warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, manage freight documentation, and ensure accurate tracking of inventory movements. Your proactive approach will help streamline warehouse distribution processes, support order fulfillment, and maintain seamless shipping and receiving activities. Job description

As a Traffic Clerk for Dakota Steel and Trim, you will report to the Traffic Coordinator. You will perform the daily scheduling of company and independently contracted trucks to meet customer requirements. You will also assist with the company fleet, focusing on maximized payload and utility while staying safe, legal, and efficient.

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee inbound freight

- Manage company-owned fleet, owner-operators, and outside carriers

- Be available for occasional off-hours phone calls from drivers

- Manage equipment repairs and preventative maintenance

- Assist the company compliant with DOT regulations

Schedule:

- 8-hour shift

- Monday to Friday

Experience:

- Fleet management: 2 years (Preferred)

- Dispatching: 1 year (Preferred)

Skills and Qualifications:

- Understanding of DOT requirements

- Good working knowledge of trucking

- Experience with managing a fleet of 5+ drivers

- Able to communicate well verbally and in writing

- Experience in dispatching multiple drops in a single route

- Experience with electronic log and its use

- Good computer skills

- Detail oriented

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
