- Receive, inspect, and log incoming tools, equipment, parts, and supplies into inventory using manual logs or inventory management software (e.g., Cribware, Supply Solutions, or ERP systems).
- Issue tools, gauges, fixtures, hand tools, power tools, safety equipment, and consumables to employees upon request while maintaining accurate records of issuance and return.
- Maintain organized storage of all items in the tool crib, ensuring proper labeling, shelving, and security to prevent loss or damage.
- Perform regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Inspect returned tools for wear, damage, defects, or calibration needs; report issues to supervisors and arrange for repairs, sharpening, calibration, or replacement as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of tools and supplies; generate requisitions or purchase orders for replenishment to avoid stockouts.
- Perform basic tool maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, minor repairs, or setup (e.g., assembling tool holders, shrink-fitting tools, or grinding where qualified).
- Track tool usage, locate misplaced or lost items, and enforce tool control procedures (e.g., check-out/check-in policies).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool crib environment in compliance with company safety standards and 5S principles.
- Assist with new job setups by preparing required tooling kits based on work orders or setup sheets.
- Provide support to production teams, machinists, and other departments by answering questions about tool availability and specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g., delivering tools to workstations or assisting with tool crib purchasing tasks, miscellaneous shop work).
