The Yard Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment to support daily construction operations. This role involves cleaning and preparing equipment, performing general custodial and maintenance tasks, and assisting with the organization of materials and tools. The position requires regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare construction equipment, tools, and vehicles for daily use
- Maintain organization of the yard, including staging, storage, and labeling of materials
- Perform general custodial duties such as sweeping, trash removal, pressure washing, and basic facility upkeep
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Support yard operations by moving materials and equipment as needed
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines
- Report damaged equipment, safety concerns, or inventory shortages to management
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a construction yard, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred
- Experience operating a loader, forklift, or similar equipment is a plus
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Exposure to construction equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift or heavy equipment certification a plus
