TIG / MIG Welder

Precision Manufacturing Group, Inc., a fabricator of precision metal parts, is seeking a skilled light metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum) TIG / MIG Welder to interpret and build weldments to a print, read and apply Bills of Material, perform fabrications according to workflow routings and work orders. As a Welder/Fabricator, your key responsibility will be welding light metal parts together using the TIG welding process. You will be working on original designs and routine project work.

Responsibilities

- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)

- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Skills

- Proven experience as welder

- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

- Deftness and attention to detail

- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

What it takes:

- 3+ years of welding experience - 3+ years of fabrication experience

- Basic computer proficiency

- Welding Certification

- Proficiency in TIG welding

- Experience in fabrication

- Ability to use calipers for precise measurements

- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting welding symbols

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
