TIG Welder/Febricator

Sheet Metal Specialties Inc. (SMS) in Fall River, WI is a family-owned custom industrial sheet metal fabrications shop. At SMS we design, fabricate and install, so that we always meet our customers’ needs. SMS has had this core idea and mission for over 30 years now and counting.

SMS works with all the different metal alloys and all welding processes. There is no project that is too big or too small. We do it all including but not limited to, industrial ductwork, dust collection, air handling, structural weldments, tanks and vessels, piping, etc. as well as fabrications and installations for the food grade processing industry.

From start to finish our employees fabricate and install our projects regardless of the type of material, fabrication techniques, or welding processes.

Basic Requirements Include:

· Knowledge and experience with fabrication and piping system processes

· Knowledge of proper and effective use of welding equipment and settings for GMAW, FCAM, GTAW, SMAW welders.

· Mechanically inclined

· (3) years welding experience

· (1) year fabricating experience (shearing, forming, rolling, etc.)

· Basic knowledge of material types (sheets stock, structural materials, tubing, pipe, etc.)

· Can weld in all positions

· Familiarity with pipe and tube fittings, sizes and material.

· Ability to weld 18 gauge (mild steel, stainless steel) up to 2-inch steel

· Basic knowledge of hand tools associated with metal fabrication

· (1) year Forklift/ overhead crane experience

· Read blueprints

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Able to climb ladders

· Valid driver’s license with good driving record

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Follow all safety and operating instructions

· Some travel required

· Works well alone and with others

Additional Experience Preferred but not required:

· Food grade polishing

· Knowledge of crane signals and rigging

· Machining

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
