Position Summary:
The Territory Manager is responsible for driving sales growth through new account acquisition and expansion of existing customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role owns territory performance and works closely with internal teams to deliver value-added solutions and long-term customer partnerships.
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan and growth strategy.
- Prospect and acquire new customers while expanding existing accounts.
- Build long-term, sustainable customer relationships through cross-selling and value-added services.
- Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
- Prioritize accounts and opportunities based on strategic value and profitability.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Operations, and Management to support customer needs.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market conditions.
- Participate in sales meetings, reviews, and team collaboration.
- Represent the company professionally with customers, prospects, and industry organizations.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and KPIs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support sales objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and professional sales experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of territory, outside, or B2B sales experience with a proven track record of new account acquisition and growth of existing customers.
- Experience selling industrial, manufacturing, metals, or distribution products preferred.
- Proficiency with CRM systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
- Strong territory planning, pipeline management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze market opportunities, pricing, customer profitability, and KPIs to drive results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present value propositions and collaborate across internal teams.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, professional, and customer-focused with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while functioning effectively within a team.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory and adapt schedule to meet business needs.
- Valid driver’s license required; industry-related sales training or certifications a plus.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working remotely or traveling.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for regular travel within the assigned territory.
- Ability to enter customer facilities, including industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
- Ability to comply with all customer and company safety requirements while on-site, including required PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hard hats, hearing protection, and high-visibility apparel when applicable.
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, and navigate uneven surfaces within customer facilities.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
