Avestec is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex robotics and inspection projects. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and client delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest technical and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, comfortable working with engineers and field teams, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for robotic inspection and R&D programs
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource plans
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple projects
- Ensure projects are executed on time and within budget
- Work closely with engineering (mechanical, electrical, software), robotics operators, and inspection teams
- Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans
- Support system integration, testing, deployment, and validation activities
- Ensure technical documentation and project records are maintained
- Act as the primary project point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with clients on schedules, requirements, and deliverables
- Support proposal execution, contract milestones, and reporting obligations
- Communicate project status, risks, and changes clearly and proactively
- Support field deployments, inspections, and operational readiness
- Identify process improvements to enhance project delivery and efficiency
- Assist with scaling project management practices as the company grows
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field)
- PMP or equivalent certification is an asset (not mandatory)
- 3–7 years of experience in technical project management or engineering project delivery
- Experience working with hardware systems, robotics, automation, or industrial technologies in the tech startups
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows and system integration
- Experience managing projects involving hardware, software, and field operations
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and reports
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical)
- Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable in a startup environment
- Ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Team-oriented with strong problem-solving mindset
