As the Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you are accountable for the compliance monitoring
and oversight over EPCOR Transmission’s Reliability Standards Compliance Program,
including providing compliance advisory and project management services to various
internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance regulations and requirements on Alberta
Reliability Standards. You remain up to date on current standards and compliance
requirements for all operating facilities and contribute to the due diligence process on
business development opportunities. The role also reviews and assesses compliance
evidence for completeness and formatting, with consideration for evidence storage and audit
preparation. In addition to managing requirements of future mandates, you will contribute to
policy initiatives either by leading or by participating as a subject matter expert.
This position reports to and works closely with the Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs.
- Leading EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc. (EDTI) Transmission’s Reliability

- Developing compliance programs for various standards and modifying existing
programs when needed to meet new requirements and working with internal
stakeholders for implementation. Providing recommendations on budgeting and
resourcing, as required
- Collaborating with EPCOR Regulatory and supporting subject matter experts to
develop EDTI Transmission’s annual Corporate Compliance Program. Advising on
the Compliance Program to promote and support compliance ownership with EDTI
- Ensuring an understanding of EPCOR’s strategy in EDTI and throughout regulatory
compliance; leading various programs within the broader program
- Reviewing reliability standards (CIP, COM, FAC, PRC, etc.) rules and requirements

- Leading investigations on non-compliance events. This includes conducting root
cause analysis, developing and implementing plans to mitigate future occurrence,
and providing recommendations to partner areas on resolving non-compliance
events, as required
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure compliance
requirements are met and coaching various internal stakeholders on events,
practices to ensure compliance, as the need arises

- Developing and maintaining business unit KPIs for compliance related metrics.
Participating in or drive cross-functional teams to design and maintain dashboards to
support EDTI’s compliance posture. Recommending or implementing changes to
evidence storage and transportation for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Degree in Arts, Business, Science or Engineering
- Designation as a Professional Engineer would be considered an asset
- 7-10+ years of work experience in the energy sector - 3+ years in a regulatory compliance role- Experience performing assurance work (audits/reviews), and business risk
assessments
- Project management experience is considered an asset
