This individual will demonstrate a strong interest in understanding and supporting the company’s ethical, legal, and regulatory obligations while providing effective oversight and collaborative support to subject matter experts across the organization. Success in this role requires analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to verify that reported outcomes are supported by accurate information, all while managing multiple projects with varying priorities in a calm and organized manner. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with Adobe Professional, Smartsheet, and SharePoint is a plus.
The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Otter Tail’s adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements. This position coordinates the collection, review, and organization of information and documentation required by State commissions and agencies, NERC, and FERC, while monitoring regulatory changes and communicating new or revised obligations to subject matter experts across the company. The role also manages tariff administration for retail tariffs in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Working closely with Regulatory Compliance Specialists, the coordinator helps identify and assess regulatory risk, reviews new or modified processes and systems for compliance, and tracks investigations, potential instances of non‑compliance, and related corrective and mitigation actions. Additional responsibilities include supporting internal departments by gathering and distributing compliance evidence for regulators and auditors and providing input and technical guidance to management in response to regulatory information requests. Periodic travel, including overnight stays, may be required to support company business.
