A Sourcing Assistant supports sourcing operations by coordinating supplier communications, maintaining data and documentation, assisting with RFQs, and ensuring sourcing processes run efficiently.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and documentation
- Communicate order status, lead times, and basic inquiries
- Maintain supplier contact information and records
- Track pricing, contracts, and supplier performance metrics
- Prepare sourcing reports and cost comparison spreadsheets
- Maintain sourcing databases and ERP system records
- Support RFQs (request for quotes) by collecting supplier quotes
- Prepare sourcing documentation and contract files
- Coordinate internal approvals and paperwork
- Work with purchasing, planning, and operations teams
- Help resolve basic supply issues and delivery discrepancies
- Support new supplier qualification activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong communication, facilitation, and active listening skills
- Organizational skills and task prioritization
- Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to learning new skills and responsibilities
- Good time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand engineering documents
- Understanding of basic mechanical/electrical design concepts and manufacturing environments
- Proficient in MS Project and MS OneNote for planning and documentation
- Actively seeks opportunities to build effective negotiation skills to support collaborative problem-solvingActively pursuing an Associate / Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. At least 0+ to 2 years of purchasing experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
