Production Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Production Assistant helps the production crew with the cold heading of Steel wire rods into Fastener parts in a Single shift production environment. This position also maintains safe work practices and standard work procedures to ensure production is run as safely and efficiently as possible. The production assistant will work closely with multiple personnel including machine operators, supervisors, and quality control in a manufacturing environment. Company expanding operations, a growth minded person with a willingness to work hard can grow with the company. We are planning to add more operations at this facility.

REPORTS TO:

Production Supervisor/Plant Operations Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in startup and production of fastener manufacturing. This includes supporting the Heading, Trimming, Threading, Washing, Packaging, and Shipping of Fasteners per production requirements.

- Obtain tools, fixtures, dies, etc., and handle materials incidental to production operation.

- Attending all required training classes (e.g., safety, equipment, job, etc.).

- Loading and unloading of inventory and finished goods.

- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1 year of experience in manufacturing plant is preferred

- Ability to move equipment and materials weighing up to 60 pounds periodically

- Ability to operate Forklift is preferred

- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment

- Ability to operate hand tools as required

- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

PAY:

- $ 18.00 to $20.00 per Hour

EDUCATION:

- High school or equivalent (Required)

EXPERIENCE:

- Production Environment Experience: 1 year preferred

- Hand on Experience with machinery is preferred

- Working experience in Bolt Manufacturing facility is a bonus

- Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office

WORK LOCATION:

- In person at the company on all working days

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
