Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solar Construction Manager to support on-site execution of commercial rooftop solar projects across the San Diego region. This role is responsible for supporting field operations, subcontractors, schedules, and safety—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant with California labor, building, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end construction of commercial rooftop solar PV projects

- Supervise subcontractors, electricians, roofers, and field crews

- Enforce OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and site-specific safety plans

- Coordinate with engineering, permitting, procurement, and utilities

- Oversee daily site activities, progress tracking, and reporting

- Ensure compliance with California Building Codes, NEC, and local AHJs

- Manage inspections, punch lists, commissioning, and project closeout

- Resolve field issues, RFIs, and change orders efficiently

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in commercial rooftop solar construction

- Strong knowledge of rooftop systems, structural coordination, and electrical scope

- Experience working under California prevailing wage and labor compliance

- Familiarity with SDG&E interconnection and local permitting processes

- Ability to manage multiple sites across the San Diego Metro area

Preferred Certifications

- OSHA 30 (required or ability to obtain)

- NABCEP (preferred)

- PMP or Construction Management certification (a plus)
