Job Summary
The Site Superintendent oversees day-to-day field operations for large-scale solar installation projects. This position is expected to work on site as applicable, supervising crews and subcontractors, coordinating schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring work is completed according to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong construction experience and the ability to manage complex job sites.
- Manage all on-site activities for large commercial and industrial solar installation projects.
- Work on site as required to supervise field operations and support installation crews.
- Lead and direct field crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Maintain daily work schedules and coordinate tasks to meet project timelines.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce all safety protocols.
- Manage site logistics including material deliveries, equipment placement, and work sequencing.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and installation plans with field teams.
- Inspect work for quality, code compliance, and adherence to engineering requirements.
- Coordinate and support solar system closeout activities, including testing and commissioning tasks such as IV curve tracing, as applicable.
- Provide daily progress updates to the Project Manager and communicate issues or material needs.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, manpower reports, site photos, and progress documentation.
- Coordinate inspections and work with local authorities when required.
- Uphold Solar Liberty’s safety and workmanship standards at all times.
- 5 or more years of construction experience, preferably in solar, electrical, or commercial construction.
- Prior experience supervising field crews and subcontractors.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Excel preferred.
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
- Experience with solar project closeout activities preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, electrical systems, racking, and structural work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and familiarity with OSHA standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time while working on site.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more as required for job duties.
- Willingness to travel out of town.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
