Position Summary
JGM is seeking a
Working Foreman for Second Shift to lead daily production activities across fabrication operations. This role is responsible for coordinating work, directing crews, and ensuring safe, efficient execution across a team that includes machine operators, welders, and material handlers.
This is a hands-on leadership position, but the primary focus is on leading people, managing workflow, and driving results—not being the most technically advanced operator on the floor. The Working Foreman ensures the team is aligned, work is staged properly, and production stays on track throughout the shift.
What You’ll Do
Lead the Shift
- Direct second shift operations and serve as the on-site leader for production
- Assign work, set priorities, and adjust as conditions change
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and first shift leadership
- Machine Operators
- Material Handlers
- Welders and support roles
- Ensure materials, drawings, and equipment are ready to support production
- Keep work flowing efficiently between stations and processes
- Monitor progress against production goals and deadlines
- Identify and address delays, bottlenecks, or resource gaps
- Support the team in meeting output expectations without sacrificing safety or quality
- Work closely with operators to keep equipment running effectively
- Help troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed
- Reinforce proper use of tools, equipment, and processes
- Promote and reinforce JGM’s HOME Safety Culture
- Ensure team members follow established safety practices and procedures
- Maintain focus on quality standards and minimize rework
- Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day direction
- Help onboard and support newer employees
- Reinforce accountability and expectations across the shift
What You Bring
Experience
- 3–7 years in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment
- Prior experience leading, coordinating, or directing a team on the floor
- Exposure to production environments with multiple processes and work areas
- Strong ability to organize work and keep teams aligned
- Comfortable working around production equipment and shop operations
- Ability to read basic drawings or job instructions and translate into work assignments
- Leads by example with a hands-on, team-first approach
- Communicates clearly and keeps people accountable
- Focused on execution, problem-solving, and getting work completed the right way
- Industrial setting with active equipment, material movement, and multiple work areas
- Fast-paced environment requiring coordination and adaptability
- Combination of floor presence and active involvement in operations
