Rogers Group is currently seeking a
Night Shift Underground Foremanfor our location in Louisville, KY. Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone underground mine. As the Foreman, you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the operation to ensure efficient development and adherence to safety regulations. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will lead a team of quarry workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth functioning of the mining operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure and promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure development activities are achieved to plan specifications.
- Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
- Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and providing development through training.
- Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience, minimum 3 years in the mining or aggregates industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of Underground Mining processes, equipment, and best practices. Along with surface plant knowledge and experience.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Excellent compliance with MSHA safety standards and proven emphasis on team safety.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using computer software (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) for data recording and reporting.
- Experience in underground mine blasting and maintenance on fixed and mobile equipment is considered a plus.
- Must place a high priority on attendance.
