- The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all Shipping and Receiving operations across both Kratos Power Components (KPC) and Kratos Procession Sheet Metal (KPSM) facilities. This role ensures on-time, accurate, and efficient flow of materials, components, and finished goods between internal departments, customers, and suppliers. The Logistics Supervisor will also manage and coordinate the company’s driver team, ensuring daily routes, schedules, and deliveries are optimized to support business needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset and a proven track record in streamlining processes to drive cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Role And Responsibilities SHIPPING & RECEIVING OPERATIONS
- Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics activities for KPC and KPSM across 1st and 2nd shifts.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, inspection, documentation, and storage / put away all incoming materials.
- Direct daily shipping operations, ensuring all orders are packaged, labeled, documented, and shipped according to customer, regulatory, and carrier requirements.
- Maintain compliance with carrier regulations, hazmat requirements, export controls (if applicable), and internal Kratos shipping standards.
- Ensure continuous coordination between warehouse, kitting, inventory, and production teams to support uninterrupted material flow.
- Drive improvements in on-time delivery performance and reduce errors in receiving and outbound shipments.
- Manage and coordinate the company’s fleet and drivers, overseeing route scheduling between KPC, KPSM, and local vendors/customers.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain daily route schedules to enhance efficiency, minimize travel time, and reduce fuel costs.
- Ensure all vehicle and driver documentation (licenses, logs, inspections, maintenance) is up-to-date and compliant with DOT regulations and Kratos standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for driver-related needs, including delivery priorities, vehicle issues, and route adjustments.
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop shipping, receiving, and driver teams to maintain high engagement, accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Set clear expectations, establish KPIs, and maintain accountability aligned with Kratos’ operational and performance goals.
- Collaborate with Materials, Inventory, and Supply Chain leadership to align staffing plans, workload balancing, and cross-training initiatives.
- Foster a strong culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all warehouse functions.
- Develop, refine, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all logistics functions, including shipping, receiving and put away, transfer orders, and driver dispatch.
- Implement Lean/5S practices to improve space utilization, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency and material flow.
- Partner with Quality and Supply Chain teams to drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for logistics errors or workflow bottlenecks.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including receiving accuracy, shipping accuracy, freight cost management, and delivery performance.
- Promote and enforce a Safety-First culture among all supply chain associates, ensuring proper use of PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, and protective gloves.
- Champion 5S organization standards, ensuring housekeeping, cleanliness, and orderliness are maintained across all logistics areas.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety protocols.- 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or materials management (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional or multi-shift teams.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation, carrier compliance, hazmat requirements, and ERP transactions (JobBOSS² or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, planning, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification and working knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations preferred.
- Proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement, and subject matter mastery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to read, understand, and analyze financial or operational reports.
- High attention to detail, strong integrity, and commitment to accurate execution.
- Solid understanding of supply chain best practices and process optimization.
