The Shipping Associate is responsible for picking and packing finished goods for shipment according to customer specification and packaging standards.
- Reads/packs pick list according to the work order.
Must be capable of stacking parts on pallets, using banding equipment, using shrink wrap machine.
- Scan all finished goods into ERP system.
- Loads shipment on truck using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Review and complete paperwork for trucking company, distributes paperwork accordingly.
- Boxes small, finished products, rechecks the order, affixes labels, and loads for shipment.
- Maintains an orderly shipping staging area.
- Maintains good housekeeping, 5S and safety practices in work area.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Minimum Education & Work Experience Required:
- 1-3 years’ work experience in a shipping/receiving environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Accountable for the accuracy of finished goods shipped, the integrity of its packaging and presentation to the customer.
- Moderate responsibility for the safety of others.
- The job is performed in a manufacturing environment where dust and noise are prevalent.
- Works with computer/tablet, pallet jack, crane, shrink wrap machine, banding equipment, power tools and hand tools.
- Uses independent judgement and discretion based upon the employee’s experience in the position and knowledge of the products, equipment, and services.
- Moderate levels of stress may be experienced in the performance of the job.
- Position is performed in a high traffic warehouse environment (non-conditioned) where the environment may contain heat, dust, noise, smells from warehouse operations and hazardous machining equipment.
