The Shipping/Receiving and Manufacturing Associate position at NEFM is a critically important role within our company. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and is a highly valued role driving the growth of our business and delivering on our commitment to our customers. This role is responsible for oversight of all daily shipping and receiving processes, implementing efficiency enhancements as identified, and performing other manufacturing tasks as needed. Working closely with the Production and Quality Control Managers, the Shipping/Receiving and Manufacturing Associate is responsible for ensuring our finished products are carefully and accurately packed for shipment to our customers, and assisting as needed with various tasks in the shop.
- Receive, inspect, verify, process and route raw materials into the facility and document receipt into our ERP software system.
- Notify the Production Manager of any discrepancies of materials versus shippers' documentation, including variations in incoming and outgoing shipment quantities and quality.
- Prepare products, including documentation, for outbound shipment.
- Work with common carriers’ portals to organize shipments to customers.
- Manage the Returned Goods process according to internal procedures.
- Deliver stock to the appropriate staging area for departments.
- Put warehoused items in the designated storage areas and rotate stock according to receipt dates and expiration dates to ensure proper stock rotation and use prior to expiration.
- Assist in cycle count and full physical inventory.
- Comply with all applicable and current Materials and Services Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, OSHA, etc. policies and procedures.
- Analyze current procedures in place and make recommendations for process improvements to the Production Manager.
- Assist in order entry, picking, packing and delivery orders as needed.
- Assist in record storage and retrieval process as needed.
- Various other manufacturing tasks, as needed, such as assembly, deburring, etc.
- Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment as needed (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
- Basic understanding of mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation completion.
- Good communication skills.
- Good record-keeping skills.
- Ability to operate a computer, printer and bar code scanner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle as required.
- Some sheet metal or assembly experience.
