The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for coordinating and performing all shipping and receiving activities, including the accurate handling, packaging, labeling, and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials and products, and uploading documents. This role ensures the smooth flow of goods within the facility, supports inventory control, and maintains workplace safety and organization standards.
· Receiving incoming materials and verifying the accuracy of shipments against packing slips, ensuring MTR and COC are supplied, bills of lading, and purchase orders
· Inspecting incoming goods for damage, quality, and compliance with specifications
· Sorting, labeling, and organizing received materials in designated storage areas
· Preparing and packaging outgoing shipments in accordance with company and customer requirements
· Completing shipping documentation, labels, and records for couriers, freight carriers, and internal tracking
· Coordinating pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal departments
· Moving and staging materials for machining teams using pallet jacks or forklifts
· Assisting in inventory counts, cycle counts, and maintaining inventory accuracy through proper documentation and tracking
· Keeping records of stock, shipments, and receipts up to date in ERP or inventory management systems
· Communicating with the purchasing and production teams to ensure timely and accurate flow of materials
· Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area and warehouse
· Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and strapping/banding tools safely and efficiently
· Prior experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role, ideally within a manufacturing or machining environment
· Working knowledge of shipping documentation, inventory systems, and basic logistics procedures
· Familiarity with various courier and freight carrier procedures and systems
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling
· Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (valid forklift certification is an asset)
· Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal departments and external partners
· Comfortable using computers and handheld scanners for inventory and shipping systems
· Capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment, materials, and packages up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse/shop environment with occasional exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery indoors and outdoors. The use of proper safety gear and PPE is mandatory at all times. The position requires frequent lifting, standing, and operating material handling equipment.
