Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting & Accounts Payable, is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function and corporate accounting activities and financial close processes for WaterBridge Infrastructure and LandBridge. You will be responsible for ensuring processes and controls are in place in order to provide timely and accurate financial information while providing leadership across teams and partnering with stakeholders to support business objectives. Additionally, you will assist with interim and annual processes including internal and external audits and public filings.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the daily and month end close activities related to accounts payable and corporate accounting
- Ability to understand and manage deliverables related to various monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines
- Responsible for the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of accounting information related to accounts payable and corporate accounting.
- Responsible for review and presentation of monthly analytics to broader accounting team as it relates to accounts payable and corporate accounting
- Oversee the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs, and expense reimbursements
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve complex or escalated payment issues
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume transactions in compliance with company policies and controls
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline AP processes, automate workflows, and improve scalability
- Ability to understand debt agreements and schedules and associated impacts on corporate accounting
- Review and approval of applicable monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform critical analysis, develop refined methodologies and improved accounting practices to ensure accuracy of accruals and month end results
- Ensure accurate accounting for corporate areas such as prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany transactions, and expense allocations
- Support the process of providing quarterly MD&A analytics to external auditors as it relates to accounts payable and corporate accounting
- Support the process of updating the quarterly and annual Results of Operations in public filings as it relates to accounts payable and corporate accounting
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external auditors for AP and corporate accounting areas
- Prepare audit schedules and support walkthroughs, testing, and issue remediation
- Responsible for identification and execution of opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and controls
- Ensure current processes and controls are appropriate and adhered to in order to provide assurance to management that financials are timely, accurate, complete, and reliable
- Participate in hiring and training process for team members
- Manage, mentor, and develop AP and corporate accounting team members
- Set clear goals, provide performance feedback, and support professional development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience- Strong background in accounts payable operations and corporate accounting
- Prior experience managing teams and complex accounting processes
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (Workday and OneStream preferred) and Microsoft Excel
- Operates in both a professional and/or business casual office environment.
