- Responsible for visually checking the saw and guards to ensure the saw is in safe working condition.
- Adjust saws gauge to required cut length as specified by customer.
- Load extrusions onto saw deck.
- Perform quality checks according to the documented procedure and checks tolerances.
- Check the squareness of cuts.
- Checks lubrication levels and performs light preventive maintenance.
- Able to clear machine jams and make machine adjustments.
- Possess a working knowledge of methods and techniques of saw operation.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workplace.
- Operates Saws to meet daily output goals and always maintain efficiency goals.
- Monitors equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
- Manufactures quality parts to meet production schedule quantities and dates and audits parts throughout the manufacturing process to meet quality standards.
- Develop an understanding of and continuously improve the performance of the aluminum cutting process.
- Work cooperatively with other operators and supervisors to achieve maximum production capabilities.
- Observe safety rules and practices and report any unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor.
- Ensures all quality documents are completed and turned in on time.
- Maintain clean, safe, well-organized workstation and surrounding area.
- Consistently adhere to and support company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Can read tape measure down to 1/32”.
- High level of mechanical aptitude.
- A demonstrated understanding of tape measures.
- How to use protractors and calipers a plus.
- Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is working correctly.
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Ability to walk and stand for the entirety of shift.
- Must be able to work in seasonal heat.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
