Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Sales Operations Manager to join our team in the wire and cable industry. This key role will optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensuring data-driven decision-making; while maintaining exceptional customer service and satisfaction. The Sales Operations Manager will work across all operational areas to align sales strategies, monitor performance, and enhance overall productivity. This role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. NOTE: This is a fully on-site position.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development -
•Develop accurate sales forecasts and targets. Monitor actual performance against forecasts and provide recommendations to adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets.
•Understand customer requirements to prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and quotations; highlighting product features and benefits.
•Negotiate pricing and terms of sale to close deals and achieve profitable sales.
•Oversee the proper use of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other tools to ensure accurate data entry, order processing, pipeline tracking and reporting. Provide training and support to the team on best practices.
•Gather and analyze feedback from customers to identify potential gaps in the product offerings, pricing, or customer service. Propose recommendations to improve the customer experience.
•Lead the creation and maintenance of sales reporting systems, providing actionable insights into sales performance, trends, and opportunities for growth. Regularly analyze sales data and present findings to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Leadership -
•Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, and order fulfillment to ensure sales forecasts align with inventory levels. Help resolve any inventory-related issues that may affect sales or customer satisfaction.
•Develop and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency and ensure the team is following best practices. Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance the customer journey from lead generation through to order fulfillment and beyond.
•Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth communication and timely resolution of issues. Help manage the quote-to-order process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
•Lead, mentor, and manage the team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
•Analyze financial data and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability
•Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
•5+ years of experience in sales operations, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment the wire and cable or manufacturing industry.
•Proven track record of successfully optimizing sales processes and driving operational efficiency.
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and derive actionable insights.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
•Experience with CRM, ERP and/or warehouse management tools.
•Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
•High attention to detail and accuracy.
•Knowledge of the wire and cable industry, including products, market trends, and customer needs, is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
•Experience in the wire and cable manufacturing or distribution industry, particularly with Mil-Spec wire and cable.
•Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create formulas and pivot tables.
