Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role is crucial in promoting safety awareness and implementing effective safety programs within our organization, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and EPA standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with occupational health standards and workers' compensation laws.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns and best practices.
- Proven experience in a safety officer role or similar position within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, workers' compensation law, and occupational health practices.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) are preferred.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
- Ability to develop training materials and conduct engaging training sessions for employees preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
