We are seeking a proactive and experienced
Safety Managerto lead our safety initiatives and ensure a compliant, secure work environment. This key role is responsible for overseeing Klute's Safety Program, maintaining compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations, and fostering a culture where
safety always comes first.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Maintain safe working conditions for all employees and prioritize safety over deadlines
- Oversee the company's safety program
- Develop safety policies and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations
- Collaborate with facility personnel to
establish
safe standard work practices and
monitor
adherence through safety and housekeeping inspections
- Ensure compliance with company and government health and environmental safety regulations.
- Complete all
government safety reports
- Work with the management team to select
appropriate personal
protective equipment (PPE)
- Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards, recommending modifications prior to their introduction
- Conduct and coordinate training on safety-related topics as
necessary by management
performance
, recommending actions for improvement
identifying
and recommending corrective actions for occupational hazards
- Conduct accident and incident investigations, recommending corrective measures
- Act as the primary responder in first aid incidents
- Chair Safety Committee meetings and assign corrective action duties to team members
- Manage all workers' compensation claims, including light duty and return-to-work programs
Education
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- OSHA 30-hour Training Course Preferred
- Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance system preferred.
- Safety Management in an industrial setting preferred.
- Strong organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
