Under general supervision, independently performs professional work supporting and executing Safeguards and Security program for the project. Responsible for implementing program requirements, developing procedures, and directly interfacing with DOE and site stakeholders. Work requires independent judgment, applied technical knowledge, and ownership of assigned program areas. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Independently implements Safeguards and Security program requirements and ensures compliance with DOE directives and federal regulations.
- Develops reports, correspondence, and regulatory documentation for DOE and external agencies.
- Develops and revises procedures, plans, and implementing documents.
- Completes and tracks life entirety of all HSPD-12 and Clearance Investigation Paperwork and processes
- Develops and delivers security awareness training.
- Interfaces directly with DOE, site organizations, and subcontractors on safeguards and security matters.
- Prepares the site for DOE surveys, assessments, and audits.
- Conducts technical reviews of regulatory changes, facility modifications, and new project activities.
- Coordinates requirements with logistics, operations, and NMC&A program leadership.
- Prepare, initiate visitor requests and provide assistance to facility managers in badging and allowing vendors/visitors access to MCSA protected areas.
- Performs technical reviews of project information to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and/or Export Controlled Information (ECI).
- Performs Technical Information Officer (TIO) reviews of DUF6 material intended for public release.
- Perform duties relating to physical security, key control, and personnel security.
- Level III Key Security Responsibilities
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management or related field, or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
