The Research Assistant will provide project, research and administrative support to the Careers in Energy team. Key deliverables of the position include labour market research on energy job profiles in the energy industry. Project and event support for project-based initiatives. Conduct analytical assessments on data and develop reports and recommendations on trending issues.
- Research and collate information on the job profiles in the traditional and emerging energy sectors. Identify gaps in information and create new job profiles and update the Careers in Energy website as needed
- Provide statistical analysis of data, producing reports and/orblogs and recommendations.
- Work on project-based initiatives from the departmental operational plan in support of Energy Safety Canada’s overall strategic plan
- Provide administrative support to the team – prepare presentations, proposal writing, participate in career fairs and tradeshows (some travel may be required)
- Other duties as required
- Certificate or (or working towards) diploma in Business, Human Resources or other related field is required
- 1 year+ work experience as an administrative assistant or similar- Knowledge of energy industry is required
- Experience in policy, procedure or formal report writing is an asset
- Experience in research or project management
- Microsoft Office training; Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe and Excel
- Website revision and SharePoint experience is an asset
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
