Covia is looking for a
Reliability Engineerwho will have a positive impact on the
Operationsteam across our network of plants. As a
Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the overall cost and reliability of Covia’s processing equipment by partnering with plants and utilizing data from multiple sources to improve operating outcomes that meet Covia’s production and safety guidelines.
The Successful Incumbent Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities
- Working with sites to support Covia’s Operations Management System with objectives that include:
- Improving maintenance work effectiveness and efficiencies
- Providing the tools and approaches needed by teams to deliver
- Assisting to identify systems to support equipment availability and loss prevention
- Responsible for multiple sites.
- Determine best maintenance practices for specific pieces of equipment and/or equipment types.
- Work with Operations to strategize and develop company-wide Condition-based (CBM)/Predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies for our critical equipment classes.
- Routinely access and query the CMMS (IFS) and other equipment databases for data analysis.
- Update equipment data, documentation and Preventative Maintenance tasks in CMMS (IFS).
- Lead or participate in Equipment Criticality Assessments, Critical Spares Analyses, and Root Cause Analyses.
- Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
- Provide input to engineering standards based upon equipment failure data and lessons learned.
- Work with Engineering, Procurement and site personnel during capital projects to ensure equipment, spare parts and Preventative Maintenance schedules are promptly and thoroughly entered into CMMS (IFS)
- Accountable for company equipment availability.
- Ensure EHS compliance and adherence to internal standards for safe and sustainable operations.
- Provide technical expertise to site personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment reliability.
- Ensure repairs, repair techniques and equipment specific training are documented, made available and ensure standards are followed.
- Travel Requirements maximum 50%.
- Collaborate with cross functional and interdependent departments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
The Successful Incumbent Will Have The Following Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Engineering, or Science from an accredited college or university, required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer role
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is preferred
- Ability to train plant employees in problem solving techniques to deliver results.
- Self-motivated to resolve challenges and circumvent obstacles
- Openly discuss opportunities to improve the performance of the business
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, ability to solve complex problems, ability to innovate, and a strategic business perspective and financial acumen
