Quality Manager – Metal Fabrication

Location: LaVergne, TN Reports To: Director of Continuous Improvement

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and manage quality systems in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements while driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 or equivalent)

- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards

- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections

- Manage nonconforming material, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

- Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone, and other tools

- Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits

- Serve as the primary quality contact for customers

- Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects, scrap, and rework

- Partner with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to resolve quality issues

- Track and report quality KPIs to leadership

- Manage calibration and control of inspection equipment

- Train and develop quality team members

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)

- 5+ years of quality experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing

- Strong knowledge of welding, machining, forming, and fabrication processes

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

- Experience with ISO 9001 and audit processes

- Hands-on experience with inspection and measurement tools

- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications

- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
