Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager - Chemical Manufacturing to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas BU. This opportunity is onsite in La Porte, TX, United States.

The Role

Wood is seeking a motivated Project Manager to lead small to moderate capital and maintenance projects within an operating chemical manufacturing facility . Ideal for someone with practical experience in I/E, mechanical, or light civil work —from craft, operations, engineering, or project management—who is eager to grow and coordinate multi‑discipline projects in a plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget while managing scope, cost, schedule, and risk.

- Oversee project financials including forecasting, cost control, margin performance, and cash collection.

- Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

- Coordinate multi-discipline work with operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors.

- Lead change management, negotiate scope adjustments, and maintain strong customer relationships.

- Provide regular progress reporting and proactively address risks or delays.

- Ensure team competency, promote performance improvement, and support HSSE programs.

- Manage project information, documentation, and close-out activities.

Expected:

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.

- PMP/APM certification preferred.

- 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including 2–3 years managing projects or major project components.

- Strong understanding of project management practices, scheduling, estimating, risk management, and contract models.

- Experience in oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
