Summary DRAFT JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of operational programs within the Shaw organization. This role ensures programs are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals. The Program Manager works closely with production, engineering, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams to drive operational performance, optimize processes, and support strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end program planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution.
- Develop program timelines, budgets, and scope documents, track progress and report status to leadership.
- Identify risks and roadblocks; implement mitigation plans to ensure successful program delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure programming milestones are met.
- Partner with operations leadership to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
- Analyze workflow and production data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and waste elimination.
- Support implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison among production, engineering, procurement, quality, and leadership teams.
- Facilitate regular program meetings and communication updates.
- Manage customer or internal stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
- Monitor KPIs such as schedule adherence, production output, cost performance, and quality results.
- Prepare program dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership and executive reviews.
- Ensure timely documentation, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Lead change management initiatives related to new processes, equipment, or product introductions.
- Train teams on updated processes and ensure smooth adoption of changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, program management, or industrial operations leadership.- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and production workflows.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional programs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, etc.).
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies (certifications a plus).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive accountability across teams.
- PMP or Program Management certification.
- Experience in high-volume, complex manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling and budget management.
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- Ability to reach with hands or arms, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, grip, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and to perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to sit at a desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
- The ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
