To maximize production output while building the highest quality product through all departments. Assist in scheduling plant production per customer required delivery dates and strive to improve. Consistently send all required daily/weekly reports while monitoring daily Goals vs Actuals. Oversee all daily operations.
· Collaborate with Operations Manager, Floor Leaders, and Production control to assign the work force according to customer delivery dates and available material.
· Forecast production by renewing material reports from purchasing, expected material deliveries, and due dates of finished product.
· Maintain the proper number of employees per current production requirements, based on a 40 hour work week, line efficiency, and output. Relocate manpower as required to efficiently complete jobs and deliveries required.
· Conduct time studies (using TSE report systems) to properly gage current production time and discover areas for potential improvement.
· Ensure that all information is updated daily into milestone report and address delays accordingly with each department.
· Ensure compliance of proper tag/book tracking and weld parameters as established by the quality/weld inspection sheets.
· Qualify new fixturing by having the first two weldments out of the fixture inspected dimensionally. Ensure repeatability of the fixtures before rolling out the full production. F.A. paperwork must be completed and approved.
· Work with quality, floor leaders, and floor personnel to continually monitor and improve weld quality. Critical dimensional gaging (jigs and checking fixtures, etc)/ Note: all hand/checking jigs must be painted yellow.
· Ensure shop is maintained in an organized and clean manner at all times, with 5S practices applied where possible.
· Plan floor layout for best use of available space (line side), per current production requirements.
· Work with line leaders to continuously improve tooling and fixturing required to compliment production processes.
· Maintain open paths of communication with C.O.O., floor personnel, working floor leaders, production/inventory control, quality, and program managers. Your immediate supervisor is the C.O.O. and ownership.
· Maintain and order proper levels of consumables (abrasives, weld gas, weld wire, etc)/monitor min/max requirements and report 2 times per week.
· Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all safety policies and regulations at all times.
· Enforce all company policies, including the administration of disciplinary action if appropriate.
· Work with C.O.O. in developing an initial plan for production of new product.
· Set-up and roll out initial production plans.
· Find weaknesses and implement improvements in efficiency of the production process.
· Maintain measurable data and report daily progress to the C.O.O., Harrison facility, floor leaders, engineering, and WC.
· Work alongside your team when required. Lead by example.
