Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation (DGOC) is an established owner and operator of producing conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells and midstream pipelines and compression stations concentrated in the Appalachian Basin in the United States. Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the planning and coordination of production operations across producing assets and must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate must be able to handle office and field work and will be responsible for completing assignments independently and under general supervision.
Special focus will be placed on:
- Prepare project timelines, cost estimates and procedures, review reports and records for accuracy, tracks project costs, verify invoices and participate in post project analysis
- Follow plans, policies, and programs to optimize business unit performance
- Assume project management responsibilities and/or mentor less experienced staff if applicable
- Assist in development and execution of programs for non-critical operations and possibly some critical operations
- Participate in field activities and intermediate understanding of technologies and operations
- Understand and properly applies HSE guidelines
- Prepare field reviews, wellbore schematics, cost estimates and procedures for downhole and surface operations; analysis of production and pressure data; basic understanding of reservoir engineering and economic evaluations
- Provide daily surveillance and evaluation of producing and injection wells in assigned areas, assuring that performance is maximized
- Work as an active member of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring thorough communication between departments
- Participate in the planning and design of production, remedial and other well operations as required to optimize asset performance
- Make formal recommendations and perform economic analyses for recommended projects
- Write procedures and justification for approved optimization / well intervention / remedial projects in assigned areas
- Prepare concise reports and presentations as required for management
- Provide engineering support for ongoing operations in assigned areas.
- May require regular travel to field locations
- Analyze results of implemented projects and present same to peers and management
- Identify and document best practices for production of well intervention
- Identify underperforming wells/areas and recommend appropriate action so that the asset is optimized
- Respond quickly to the needs of field personnel so that well production is maximized and downtime is minimized
- Provide engineering support for various divisional initiatives and studies as required
- Communicate effectively with field personnel and track projects that have been recommended
- Track capital expenditures and LOE in assigned areas.
- Perform trend analyses, prepare forecasts and budgets as needed
- Perform/oversee production-related administrative and regulatory duties as required
- Analyze and make recommendations for proposed non-op related work within assigned area
- Understand and follow all safety practices
- Engineering degree required; Petroleum Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ related experience is required
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office; experience with Power BI is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform economic analysis and justification; experience with Aries is a plus
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills considered mandatory
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to the field
- Demonstrated experience in artificial lift design and application, well completion, remedial well work, and related field experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams
- Prior experience in EOR and flood fields preferred
- Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
