Press Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Press Operator to join our team at Venture Steel. The Press Operator is responsible for operating mechanical or hydraulic presses to cut, shape, or form steel and metal materials according to customer specifications. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting our commitment to safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate press machines to process steel coils, sheets, or blanks.

- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine appropriate press settings and tooling requirements.

- Monitor machine operation during the production run and make adjustments to ensure consistent quality.

- Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, gauges).

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Record production data and report any defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervisor.

- Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

- 5+ years of experience operating press machines in a manufacturing or steel processing environment.

- Familiarity with steel types, thicknesses, and tolerances.

- Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and work instructions.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred:

- Experience in a steel service center or metal fabrication facility.

Work Environment:

- Industrial/manufacturing facility with exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and steel products.

- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and wear all required PPE.
