Press Operator

Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking a Press Operator to join the SFI team

- Manufacture fittings to detail job specifications.

- Change out press tooling based on production schedule.

- Organize and maintain press tooling.

- Operate and control the press furnaces.

- Ability to read and understand detailed job requirements (job traveler).

- Operating mobile equipment.

- Must be able to take instruction and follow production and safety guidelines.

- In absence of lead press operator, assume the responsibilities of the day to day operation of the press and production output.

Knowledge, Experience, and Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years of experience operating a press or industrial manufacturing equipment.

- Prior forklift certification.

- Ability to read and understand drawings.

- Must be able to utilize micrometers, calipers, and scales.

- Compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.

- Movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, and other active movements.

- Working in hot environments for extended periods.
