Job Overview

LOOKING FOR:

- 3rd Shift Press Operator. Training on 1st shift

- Shift Premium Available

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to produce quality pressed parts according to dimensions specified on the Press Card in the desired quantities by following established procedures and processes.

Description of work:

Take information from the Press Card and select the proper grade of Carbide powder. Use a digital scale to weigh the proper amount of powder and pour it into the mold specified on the Press Card. Produce quantity of parts requested from Press Card following all safety procedures and use of proper PPE

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Set up and operate conventional hydraulic press to form parts to Press Card

- Read and interpret Press Card to select correct materials

- Read and interpret Press Card to determine correct press settings

- Read and interpret Press Card to determine correct dimensions for pressed parts

- Select molds, tools, and fixturing required to complete parts

- Use appropriate measuring equipment to inspect finished parts

- Ensure all gages are calibrated and set accurately

- Safely and effectively handle green parts without chipping, cracking, or otherwise damaging them

- Select appropriate jobs to run based on Rockform schedules and procedures

- Break all sharp edges and clean all parts after completion

- Alcohol dip parts as appropriate to ensure they are crack free

- Perform routine machine maintenance (preventive maintenance)

- Maintain work area cleanliness and organization

- Log completed jobs for job tracking purposes

- Work overtime as required to maintain production

- Ensure careful handling of materials and tools to avoid damage

Required Skills:

- Ability to read a digital scale, micrometer, and caliper

- Ability to read and understand work instructions

- Basic math skills

- Ability to lift 60 lbs.

- Strong attention to detail

- Good oral and written communication skills

- Good organizational skills

- Dedication to quality and efficiency

- Good teamwork
