We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Predictive Maintenance Specialist. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL requiring candidates to work 7-days on/7-days off (days and nights) 12-hour rotation.
- Participate in the improvement and optimization of the Predictive Maintenance (PDM) program
(Vibration/IR/Lube/Ultrasound) based on the best practices in the mining industry.
- Actively participate in the development and improvement of Vibration, Hydrocarbon, Ultrasound & IR routes. Execute the routes, identify route deficiencies and work with the predictive maintenance team to eliminate recognized deficiencies.
- Maintain the maintainability of the equipment to ensure the execution of the predictive maintenance tasks. Suggest hardware (missing grease lines, inaccessible equipment, etc.) upgrades/repairs to ensure continuous improvement. Ensure that the components for hydrocarbon related inspections are maintained (gauges, labels, etc.)
- Participate in the root cause analysis to provide input regarding PDM failures. Implement the PDM related countermeasures and containments identified through the RCA activity. Perform basic corrective maintenance relevant to PDM.
- Perform the routes adequately according to the preventive maintenance program:
1. Perform oil changes and top-ups based on recognized best practices.
2. Perform grease application respecting best practices. Perform ultrasonic assisted lubrication where applicable.
3. Take the oil samples according to the maintenance program respecting best practices
- Improve and maintain Hydrocarbon and Lubricant storage rooms and satellite rooms according to best practices. Sustain 5S methodology in the storage areas.
- Implement 5S in the storage areas (1. Sort, 2. Set in Order, 3. Shine, 4. Standardize, 5. Sustain).
- Execute the assigned work orders responsibly and in a timely fashion.
- Help, develop KPIs to quantify the performance of the developed condition monitoring program.
- Pay increases for PDM Technicians will be based on the completion of a structured training program and progress to LVL II, LVL III, and LVL IV.
- Start as a Hydrocarbon/Vibration Technician Level 1. Progressively train and execute the deployed program, to obtain level 2, level 3, and level 4 certifications.
- Master other condition monitoring technologies (IR/Ultrasound/Vibration) and develop a wholesome predictive maintenance skillset.
- Professional Technologist (PTech) with a specialization in Mechanical or Electrical Fields.
- A new PTech Graduate or a Non PTech candidate with adequate industrial experience will be considered.
- Recognized competencies in lubrication and/or condition monitoring (Level 1 or Level 2 Analysts) will be given preference.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
- Should have mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance practices.
- Should be able to demonstrate ownership.
